Heavener cross country boys make state

KIEFER – The Heavener Wolves qualified their entire cross country teams to next weekend’s state meets, which will be at Shawnee’s Gordon Cooper Vo-Tech Center.

In the Class 3A boys’ regional meet, the Wolves were fifth with 144 points to send all seven runners who ran to next weekend’s state meet.

Heavener’s Elijah Cook was a top 10 finisher as he came in fifth (17:28.2). Timothy “Cactus” Shipman was 27th (19:54.5), Ely Stapp was 41st (21:08.9), Chrystian Martinez was 44th (21:15.1), David Castillo was 55th (21:57.8), Jonathon Lira was 57th (22:01.5) and Fransisco Hernandez was 67th (23:30.6).

The Lady Wolves were 12th with 310 points.

The highest placer for the Lady Wolves was Liz Chitwood, who came in 62nd (16:07.9). Sescillia Lira was 66th (16:24.2), Laura Luna was 67th (16:24.7), Leticia Reyes was 68th (16:30.5), Miriam Martinez was 79th (18:00.7), Sara Rossetti was 86th (18:42.8) and Aurora Martinez was 87th (18:45.7).
